A woman who allegedly stole a laptop at a Thai airport was arrested along with her husband when they returned to catch their flight home.
CCTV footage appears to show the wife, from Switzerland, brazenly walk off with a computer which had been left close to where she was sitting.
She was filmed allegedly slipping the item, worth hundreds of pounds, from its box before walking out with it, alongside her spouse.
Eagle-eyed staff at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok were able to identify the couple, named as Anna G, 56, and Romano G, 61.
All they had to do was wait for them to return to their flight home three weeks later, according to local media.
The pair have been held in custody after the laptop, costing around £900, was allegedly found in their luggage.
Romano is accused of being an accomplice to the theft as he gave his wife a shirt apparently to cover the item.
According to local reports, The Swiss Confederation Department for Foreign Affairs has confirmed the case.
Spokeswoman Noemie Charton said: “The Swiss Embassy in Bangkok is in contact with the local authorities and can lend consular protection upon request.”
Friends of the couple have been shocked by the case, claiming the couple are very “sweet”, and the case must be a “slip”.
Since the incident, Anna and Romano G. have been in custody in Thailand. It is unknown when they will be able to go back to Switzerland.
According to Thai law, if convicted they are facing a prison sentence of one to five years.
